The text-based way of operating a computer — typed commands instead of buttons. Agents are strikingly good at it, because it's text in, text out: their native medium.
Why it matters: you'll meet the acronym constantly in agent work, because the most capable agent tools live in the terminal. You don't need to love it; you need to not be scared of it.
