5. Orchestrating many agents

Orchestration

Designing and running the system around agents: who does what, in what order, with what checks, and what happens when something fails. The orchestrator doesn't do the work — it makes sure the work happens correctly.

Why it matters: this is the actual skill knowledge workers can own. It's management thinking — decomposition, delegation, quality control — applied to AI workers. The vocabulary is new; the discipline is not.
